About the Event
What is or isn't conscious? Do our bodies have their own consciousness? Can meditation deliver the same esoteric insights than psychedelics can? Can you anthropomorphise emotions, and if so, what does that mean for us?
The Cogs Society are thrilled to be able to invite meditator, author and Cog-Sci graduate, Sherrie Laryse, to launch her latest book, The Body Talks Back - a true story about building a healthy relationship with our emotions and body to find peace of mind.
Joining Sherrie on stage will be a panel of experts to answer all of your questions. We have:
🧠Greg Downey, Neuroanthropologist specialising in embodied practices and mental health
🧠Samuel Jones, Philosopher with expertise in consciousness and extended cognition
The evening will be hosted by Kitty Macabulos, PhD candidate in neuroscience, and BCBS alumni Jason Safro.
